Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: August 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Trends of the World platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Trends of the World provides AI-powered trend intelligence, surfacing paradigm-shifting developments across industries including Healthcare, Finance, Technology, Energy, and Construction. The Service includes a web dashboard, industry scoring, market data references, and email alerts depending on your subscription tier.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to register for and use the Service. By creating an account you represent that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current.

4. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at info@trendsoftheworld.com of any unauthorised use of your account. We will not be liable for any loss arising from your failure to protect your credentials.

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription (Explorer or Investor tier). Subscription fees are charged monthly in advance and are processed by Stripe. Prices are displayed in EUR and include applicable taxes where required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe billing portal accessible from your Account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial-period refunds are issued. We reserve the right to issue discretionary refunds at our sole judgement in exceptional cases.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, and materials on the Service — including trend analyses, disruption scores, and platform design — are the exclusive property of Trends of the World or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent. This clause covers our own material only. Rights in third-party source material remain with their respective owners, as set out in section 8.

8. Third-Party Sources and Attribution

The Service identifies publicly available developments and describes them in our own words. Titles and summaries shown on the Service are original editorial descriptions written by us; they are not reproductions of any publisher's headline or article text. Every item links to its original source and names that source. Where we display any source-derived extract, we limit it to what the relevant licence or statutory exception permits, and we record the licence classification of each source so that our handling of it is auditable. Facts and items of news are not themselves protected by copyright; the particular expression of a source is, and we do not reproduce it. We honour machine-readable reservations of text-and-data-mining rights, including the W3C TDM Reservation Protocol (tdmrep.json) and named AI-agent directives in robots.txt. Sources that reserve those rights are excluded from processing, and each check is logged. All trade marks, publication names, and source content remain the property of their respective owners. Reference to a source does not imply its endorsement of the Service.

9. Copyright Complaints — Notice and Takedown

We respect the rights of copyright owners. If you believe that material on the Service infringes your copyright or a related right, please contact us at info@trendsoftheworld.com with the subject line "Copyright Notice". To allow us to act quickly, please include: (a) your name, organisation, and contact details; (b) identification of the material you believe to be infringing, including the URL on the Service where it appears; (c) identification of the work you claim has been infringed, including a URL where possible; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law; (e) a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf; and (f) your electronic or physical signature. We aim to acknowledge complete notices within two business days and to remove or disable access to material we assess as infringing without undue delay. Where a source asks us to stop displaying its material or to be excluded from the Service entirely, we will honour that request; no formal notice is required to opt out. If you believe material was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same address and we will review it. We may terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. This clause is intended to provide an accessible route for rights holders in every jurisdiction we serve, including notice-and-takedown under the EU Digital Services Act and the notification procedure under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Trend data, scores, and market references are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, investment, or professional advice. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any information provided.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trends of the World and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or investments — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: (a) scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service; (b) reverse-engineer or decompile any part of the platform; (c) use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of any applicable regulation; (d) share your account credentials with third parties; or (e) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase (authentication and data storage), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery) and Google Analytics (aggregate usage measurement, subject to your cookie consent). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective providers' terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services. Stock tickers identify companies associated with a trend. Market charts on trend pages are illustrative visuals, not live quotes, and nothing on the Service constitutes investment advice.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction in which Trends of the World is incorporated. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

16. Contact

The Service is operated by Trends of the World, Copernico Isola, via Sassetti 32, 20124 Milan, Italy. For questions regarding these Terms, please contact us at info@trendsoftheworld.com or by post at the address above. Copyright notices should follow the procedure in section 9.
